The Bramble Hive

The Bramble HiveCaptain Rif Callogh was managing a routine mission. But he was unsure about the “guide” they had taken on.

The cratchets were starting their evening song, each one making a rasping rattle with its clear wings, that taken together made the entire forest thrum.  They would go on like that until before dawn.  It made Callogh crazy.

“I have advised you repeatedly not to move against the fens.”

The Bramble Hive is a short story from the collection Tales from the Red Book of Tunes.
