A Man Is A Large Animal To Find

A man is a large animal to find,
toppled or heaped,
gathering
brittle leaves.
They are not suited for dragging:
a bent log
through brush or snow.
Frozen arms
cradle a perfect crouch;
the sacred hollow
of his mouth.
When he fell
there was the sound
of a saddle
dropped
and an easy roll.
